'Syd's Boogie'

Players: Matt Johnson - guitar, Chaz Blackburn - bass, Chris Wilson - tea cup!
Recorded on Chris's reel to reel tape recorder at Hyelm Hostel, summer 1980.

1st single - A side / B side

A side!   'It Really Scares Me'.

Originaly recorded in Nick's bedroom with one cassette tape recorder, Chaz - acoustic guitar, Nick - electric guitar, Sue - casio organ, Terry - non-mic vocals, the song has been re-juvenated by Mark Warburg with a few overdubs. This was always the set opener. Curiously as we played, due to it being the downstairs of a wine bar/restaurant complete with tables at the front, the audience would promptly sway back and forth, in time, on their chairs: bizarre.

B side!   'Automaton'.

Originaly recorded in Matt Johnson's parents pub in Feb 1978, this track though recorded in winter 1986, remains faithfull to the original; it having a fuzz/distortion piano overdub al la Matt's keyboard technique at the time. One and only performance was at the 'Sons of Dada' summer 1982.
